We are CKC United

After years of seeing live music as a group CKC United was formed out of the desire to give something back to the community.

CKC United (Cool Kidz Club) began as a group of like-minded individuals and friends who met from within the jamtronica music scene. The group decided that they wanted to give something back to the community and realized this dream could become a reality. It is through CKCU's love of music that this bond was created, therefore, they chose to use live music as a portal to raise funds and awareness for charitable causes. The group is comprised of seven board members and many volunteers who are passionate about using live music to make a positive impact in the community.

What does CKC United do?

CKC United is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for organizations and charities by bringing people and music together. Essentially, CKC United organizes live musical events, many of which include bands that they love and bands that have brought them together; they then donate the proceeds to a charity or cause. Currently, CKCU is raising funds for Little Kids Rock, a very unique program that helps bring music education to underfunded public schools. You can read more about our current campaign here.

Previously, CKCU chose the Kimmel Cancer Center (KCC) at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia to be the inaugural recipient of funds raised at their events through October 2010. CKC United chose the KCC because many of their members have been personally affected by breast cancer. The KCC also guaranteed that the funds CKCU donated will go directly to women and their families going through treatment and in need, rather than research. CKC United’s first major fundraising event was Rock the Ribbon, a black-tie gala that took place March 27, 2010 at the Regal Ballroom in Philadelphia. CKCU also organizes other events throughout the year that incorporate local outreach efforts such as food and clothing drives.

We feel it important to mention that all work, time, and dedication to this organization is performed on a volunteer, and no-fee basis. There are no paid employees whatsoever - we instead perform these tasks out of our love for music, and every person that benefits from what we do.

CKC United is led by our board members & volunteers who have been passionate about this idea since the beginning.
